Land of Ninjas

Ninja Ranks

Every ninja starts somewhere. In this case, the Ninja academy. The Ninja Academy is available is every nation, big or small. This is where kids come and trains in the arts of a ninja. They will develop the skills to use jutsu, and learn about the history of the village. Work hard to graduate!

After graduating from the ninja academy, the kids will acheive a new rank, Genin. They will earn their forehead protectors and the kids will be pair up into four man cells, consisting of three genins and one jonin (highest ranked ninja) appointed by the Kage of the village. Before they can even call themselves ninjas, they must prove theirselves worthy. The jonin test them. If the kids pass the tests, they are appointed as Genin. If one of them fails, they will all be sent back to the Ninja Academy.

If the genins are successful, they will still be in the four-man cell. After several years of intense training and hard work, the Chunin Exam will roll around (unless you complete many mission and rank up instead). Eligible genins from all over the world will come together and meet in one village to participate in the exam. The exam is split into three sections. The first is a extremely difficult test. Chunins and Jonins will be placed around the perimeter of the room. If they catch you cheating, you will be disqualified. If you manage to pass, you will go on to the next round. Each team will be given either a Earth Scroll or a Heaven Scroll. The goal in this part is to obtain the other scroll from another team and make it out alive at the end of a large, dense forest. You will be timed. You have to make it out of the forest with the two scrolls. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LOOK INSIDE THE SCROLL. If you pass the second part, you will come across the final section of the Chunin Exam: The Tournament. Ninjas and villagers from around the world will come to see this tournament. All the Kages will be there as well and they will keep a careful eye on every genin. It doesn't matter if you win or lose; it depends on your skills, determination, and courage. Remember, it won't be easy. Genin from other nations will come and participate as well, so put up a good fight!

If you have shown excellent work and unwavering loyalty, the Kage may appoint you as a Jonin, the highest obtainable rank. Not everyone can be a jonin, but out of the other ranks, this seems to be the easiest to acheive. If you prove yourself powerful and intelligent, you will be likely appointed. If you completed many missions and rank up, you will also be appointed. It's easier to work hard enough to acheive this, but harder to be reconized by the leader, or Kage.

The Kage is the most powerful ninja. He sometimes assigns the missions, but the Elders mainly do that. The Kage runs the village and make sure everything is in order. If the Kage retires or dies, the Elders will pick the next Kage.

On this site however, you can also obtain these ranks by completing mission and gaining EXP and yen (¥).
Or if I notice your hard work, you can also rank up faster. Or you can ask me

Common Accessories

Forehead Protector
Picture
The forehead protector is the headband that is worn by almost every ninja, composed of a metal plate engraved with the symbol of the ninja's Hidden Village, and normally a band of blue cloth (although other colors have been seen). The forehead protector is received once a ninja graduates from the Ninja Academy, so only Genin-level or higher ranked ninja possess them. The forehead protector is meant to symbolize pride in one's village, as well as a symbol of fealty. Ninja consider it an honorable, important part of their tradition, and make a point of wearing it at all times, especially when sparring with a comrade from the same village. Despite the name "forehead protector", it can be worn in many different styles.

Flak Jacket

Picture
Uusually worn by Chūnin and Jōnin over their normal clothes in most villages, although the design varies among the villages. For instance... , the Leaf shinobi wear a green jacket, whereas the Sand shinobi wear a beige jacket. It has tiny pouches, useful for storing scrolls and medicine.

Full-Body Suit

Picture
The full body suit is simply a single form-fitting piece of clothing that covers everything except the feet, hands, and head. It seems that it would allow stealthly movements. Typically worn by Chunins and Jonins

Shinobi Sandals

Picture
The typical sandals that most Shinobis wear. Color and style varies among villages.

Hip Pouch

Picture
Used as storage for many tools, hip pouches are necessary for holding an assortment of all the most elementary of ones ninja tools such as kunai, shuriken, scrolls and exploding tags. Although, shuikens are mostly kept in the rectangular pouch along the thigh. Similar to a hip pouch, the weapons holster is designed for holding kunai and shuriken only. Positioned on the thigh, the holster is conveniently placed for the quick-drawing of the kunai or shuriken they carry in combat. Most ninjas wear this.

Clans

Aburame Clan

Picture
The Aburame clan (油女一族, Aburame Ichizoku) is a clan within Konohagakure (hidden leaf) characterized by their use of insects as weapons. The insects live in symbiosis within the body of the shinobi. At birth, members of this clan are offered to a special breed of insects called kikaichū as a nest, residing just under their host's skin

Nara Clan

Picture
The Nara clan (奈良一族, Nara Ichizoku) or Nara family (奈良家, Nara-ke) is known for their manipulation of shadows and tending of deer, which graze in a large area of Nara clan forest. They have kept a book with medicine preparations and effects for generations which imply they are skilled in the area of medicine. Among the medicine described in this book are the secret pills used by the Akimichi clan. Despite being considered geniuses, the men from this family are prone to being lazy and hard to motivate, but once the situation calls for it, they are very determined and loyal. Ironically, they tend to be attracted to stern, overbearing women. However, there appear to be other factors as well. The Nara men seem to hold women in high esteem, and as a result, willingly defer to their female partners.

Hyūga Clan

Picture
The Hyūga clan (日向一族, Hyūga Ichizoku) is one of the oldest and most powerful clans in Konohagakure. All members born into this family possess the Byakugan, a kekkei genkai that gives them extended fields of vision and the ability to see the chakra circulatory system amongst other things.

Byakugan

Picture
The first ability of the Byakugan gives the user a near 360º field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the third thoracic vertebra.

The second ability is being able to see through solid objects, and can use a degree of telescopic sight. The distance and the degree of telescopic sight varies from person to person, and can be improved. The third and one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see chakra, chakra flow as well as the chakra circulation system inside the body with great detail. It is from this particular ability that they are able to employ their ultimate attack style: Gentle Fist. Unlike the Strong Fist, which is focused on external injuries, the Gentle Fist style focuses on internal injuries. Each strike, when placed correctly, strikes along the chakra pathway system, which is the network of vessels that carry chakra. This network is closely intertwined with the functioning of the body's organs, and so, when the keirakukei take damage, the organs suffer as well. There is no defense against the Gentle Fist, since one cannot train one's internal organs to become stronger. The only possible defense is to stop the Gentle Fist's hits from connecting. Also, like the Sharingan and Rinnegan, the Byakugan's ability to see chakra and its flow allows the user to detect chakra sealed barriers. It was also shown in the anime that the Byakugan can also discern a transformation and a real person using the eye's ability to see chakra.

Particularly skilled users of the Byakugan can take the Gentle Fist style one step further. Along the keirakurei are 361 pinprick-sized nodes called tenketsu, or chakra points. When struck, the Byakugan user can choose to either seal, or forcibly open these tenketsu, thus giving the user complete control over their opponent's chakra system. So, with precision, all those points along the victim's body can be sealed, stopping the chakra flow to those areas. Able to strike without force, and yet do more damage to a ninja than some of the most powerful ninjutsu, the Gentle Fist has been labeled as the greatest taijutsu style known in all of Konohagakure.

Uchiha Clan

Picture
The Uchiha clan (うちは一族, Uchiha Ichizoku) was once considered to be one of the most powerful clans in Konohagakure, but is now almost extinct after the events of the Uchiha clan Massacre

Sharingan

Picture
The Sharingan is not automatically activated in the user by birth. It is only first unlocked under some stressful or emotional condition after which the Sharingan may be used freely. When the Sharingan is first activated by a user, it has a different number of tomoe (巴) around the central pupil, varying between users. The wielder of the Sharingan, through continued use and training, evolves it further which involves gaining more tomoe, up to a maximum of three per eye. As the Sharingan develops, the user gains heightened abilities. The first of the Sharingan's powers is being able to see the flow of chakra. The Sharingan can tell if a person is under a genjutsu because the person's chakra flow would be irregular.

The Sharingan's second-most prominent ability grants the user an incredible clarity of perception, allowing them to easily recognize genjutsu and different forms of chakra, though not to the same extent as the Byakugan. This also allows the user to pick up on subtle details, enabling them to read lip movements or mimic something like pencil movements. As the Sharingan evolves, gaining more tomoe seals, this ability extends to being able to track fast-moving objects before finally giving some amount of predictive capabilities to the user. However, even though the user may be able to see an attack or know it is coming, their body may not have time to react.

The Sharingan's third and most well-known ability is that it grants the user the ability to memorize any technique that he or she witnesses, apart from other Kekkei Genkai techniques. The user can memorize ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu with near perfect accuracy, allowing the user to use the techniques as their own, or even modify them to create their own new techniques

Uzumaki Clan

Picture
The Uzumaki clan (うずまき一族, Uzumaki Ichizoku) was a prominent clan in Uzushiogakure. They were also distant relatives of the Senju clan and thus both clans were on good terms; an alliance that extended onto their Hidden Villages - Konohagakure and Uzushiogakure. The shinobi of Konoha integrated Uzushiogakure's symbol onto their uniforms and flak jackets as well as on the shoulders of their uniforms as a sign of friendship and goodwill between the two villages, and continue to do so to this day, in memory of their friendship even years after Uzushiogakure's destruction. Members of this clan were very knowledgeable of fūinjutsu (sealing techniques). This reputation earned them renown and fear worldwide, which eventually led to the destruction of Uzushio, and the rest of the Land of Whirlpools during the era of Shinobi World Wars. The members of this clan possess incredible longevity. One case of the Uzumaki clan's longevity lived from before the founding of Konoha well into the term of the Third Hokage's reign. This vitality was the reason Kushina Uzumaki survived the extraction of her tailed beast, though she was greatly weakened.

Hikari Clan

Picture
The Hikari Clan was one of the most powerful clan in the history of the Ninja World. Almost extinct, this clan's skill can even match those in the Uchiha Clan. They are one of the most intelligent clan, but their numbers have diminished over the past years. Sworn enemies with the Uchiha Clan, they been nearly wiped out by the Hidden Leaf under the Council of Elder's orders. The Hikari Clan was considered to be a threat. They were in good terms with the Uzumaki Clan and both clans make a powerful combination. The Hikari Clan is well-known and feared by their intelligence, knowledge of ninjutsus, and chakra control. they are most feared by their use of summoning jutsus. They tend to be very agile, fast, and catches the slightest change. Most of them have high endurance, dexerity, stamina, chakra, and strength. The leader of the Hikari Clan has the power to master all five elements: Wind, earth, fire, lightning, and water.

Zyugan

Picture
Very few members in this clan possess the Zyugan, or element eye. The Sharingan was developed from the Zyugan. The Zyugan is the Hikari Clan's Kekkei Genkai. It boosts all elemental attacks as well as physical abilties based on the user's elemental skills. It can absorb all element-based ninjutsu and can deflect genjutsu. It can even sneak inside an enemy's mind without being detected and grasp information such as weakness and purpose. Like the Sharingan, it can see fast, slight movements and can copy others ninjutsu and taijutsu. It can even take another clan's Kekkei Genkai. If the user fought with a member of the Uchiha clan, they can develop the Sharingan! It can also see the opponent's chakra flow and stop certain points, preventing the opponent from molding chakra and performing ninjutsu. It can sometimes inflict pain on the enemy without the user touching them, and can even glimpse into the future for a short period of time. It grants the user control over other rare elements, including light and darkness. It can control gravity and lessens the amount of chakra used for each jutsu. It also has other characteristics, such as gathering Nature Energy with ease and allowing the user to perform powerful energy blasts. Unlike the Sharingan, it does not cause any damage or strain on the user.

Kurama Clan

Picture
Exclusive to the anime, the Kurama clan (鞍馬一族, Kurama Ichizoku) is a clan of extremely skilled genjutsu users. This talent in genjutsu is due to the unnamed kekkei genkai that the clan possesses. However, once every few generations, a member of the clan will be born with such enormous skill in genjutsu that their illusions can actually produce tangible effects that occur in reality

Japanese Titles

I'm not forcing you guys to do this, but it's polite to do so ;)
In Japan, you add these honorifics to the end of someone's name.

San - most common honorific and is a title of respect similar to the English words "Mr.", "Miss", "Mrs.", or "Ms." However, in addition to being used with people's names, it is also employed in a variety of other ways.

Chan - it expresses that the speaker finds a person endearing. Thus, using chan with a superior's name would be condescending and rude. In general, chan is used for babies, young children, and teenage girls. It may also be used towards cute animals, lovers, close friends, or any youthful woman.it expresses that the speaker finds a person endearing. Kun - is used by persons of senior status in addressing or referring to those of junior status, or by anyone when addressing or referring to male children or male teenagers. It can also be used by females when addressing a male that they are emotionally attached to or have known for a long period of time. Although kun is generally used for boys, that is not a hard rule. For example, in business settings, young female employees may also be addressed as kun by older males of senior status

Sama - is a markedly more respectful version of san. It is used mainly to refer to people much higher in rank than oneself, toward one's customers, and sometimes toward people one greatly admires. When used to refer to oneself, sama expresses extreme arrogance

Sensei - is used to refer to or address teachers, doctors, politicians, and other authority figures. It is used to show respect to someone who has achieved a certain level of mastery in an art form or some other skill
